Clotilde Robin
Civil & Structural Engineer
Clotilde is a highly skilled bridge designer and an excellent team leader in the delivery of new bridges as well as the assessment and adaptation of existing bridges to extend their life. She is proud to be part of the IStructE Net Zero Bridge Group, and has most recently been leading the UST team for the innovative low carbon footbridge for rail in the UK and abroad.
She started her career in Paris, working with Pritzer prize architects on complex buildings and developing her skills on bridge designs. After 20 years in the UK, Since joining the Trust, Clotilde has worked on project portfolio stretches from the technical delivery of the AVA footbridge for Network Rail, and the lead of a viaducts study for HS2, to the design of the Chateau Lacoste viewing platform with the Norman Foster Foundation.
Clotilde's excellent communication, creativity, and technical skills allow her to effectively collaborate with clients, architects, designers, and contractors to reach the best solution. A focus for her is to push for social value and sustainability to be better embedded into the design and construction processes. Experiencing the positive impact of a footbridge install as part of a site regeneration project in Dunkirk, as well as the improved connectivity and subsequent benefits that stemmed from the building of a footbridge in Rwanda where she was volunteering, were both formative in her position as an advocate for designing beyond good techincal delivery.
