Constructionarium is a highly successful educational initiative that enables learners to gain hands on experience of construction projects as part of their studies.
It was pioneered by Imperial College, Expedition Engineering and John Doyle Construction in 2004, and is based on a week-long residential program where learners work with practitioners to build model projects including bridges, towers, eco houses, metro stations and so on. The projects are dismantled over the weekend before the new groups arrive.
Constructionarium has been hosted by the CITB at Bircham Newton since 2005.
This project is to locate the Constructionarium within the Berkeley development at Southall Waterside site providing a mutually beneficial activity for the next ten years.
