• 100 Embankment, SKA Assessment

Supporting role as SKA assessor in a sustainability driven workplace fit-out scheme in Manchester.

100 Embankment in Manchester is an outstanding example of a sustainability driven fit-out scheme in the workplace sector. The studio was appointed by x+why as  SKA assessors and worked closely with a team led by JRA Architects, from early in the design phase right through construction, to handover stage, with a goal to achieve SKA Gold, the highest score possible in the SKA Sustainable Certification scheme for commercial fit out. Our expertise in material reuse, the circular economy and a pared back approach to design add value to our Assessor role.

The shared passion and commitment to an innovative project was evident throughout the design team, directed by client, Phil Nevin, co-founder and CCO of x+why, who expressed: “All our spaces are designed and operated as industry-leading green workspaces, with every element designed in collaboration with purpose-driven brands. The spaces are not just for charities or not-for-profits, they are aimed at any person or business who is committed to a more impactful and positive way of working."
