Lily holds a MArch in Architecture and MEng in Structural Engineering from the University of Sheffield, a background that allows her to merge complex technical problem-solving with creative, human-centric design. She is currently enjoying the final stages of her architectural education working towards her Professional Practice (Part 3) qualification at the Architectural Association.
Her recent work in the studio is primarily in the Education sector, alongside community-focussed projects, where she prioritises revitalising existing assets through a strategic retrofit-first approach. This approach is uniquely informed by her practical background; having gained manual experience in the trades through the ‘Women in Construction’ course at the City of Glasgow College.
A dual academic education, alongside practical experience, has demonstrated the importance of cross-disciplinary collaboration in driving more impactful design. Lily believes that co-design, across industries and wider stakeholders, is critical for delivering more inclusive, technically grounded design that reflects and empowers the communities it serves.
