Useful Studio have been appointed by Nationwide Building Society’s Property Services (NWBPS) team to develop an Acquisition Guide and complementary excel tool to aid their procurement of buildings.
This Guide sets out questions that interrogate the sustainability credentials of an asset during the appraisal process, with the intended outcomes of acquiring buildings that align (or are capable of aligning with) our sustainability standards. It also covers topics such as energy performance, gas, transport, biodiversity, and climate risks such as overheating, flooding, internal environmental quality, and socio-economic considerations.
Through this, we aim to support NWBPS’s investment and acquisitions teams to effectively evaluate the sustainability risks and opportunities of retail, administrative, leasehold, and freehold assets against their sustainability expectations.
As part of the wider Sustainability Plan, the Acquisition guide will be essential for the delivery of NWBPS’s objectives, ensuring the buildings they operate in the future can achieve their sustainability goals.
